Biogasclean has been invited to participate in a new e-methane taskforce established by Biogas Danmark, bringing together companies and stakeholders with expertise from across the biogas and energy value chain.
The taskforce has been created to explore the potential for e-methane in Denmark and to identify the conditions needed to move from technical potential towards commercial implementation. Its work will address areas including technology, economics, applications, financing and regulatory frameworks.
A central part of the discussion is the potential to combine biogenic CO₂ from biogas production with renewable hydrogen to produce e-methane. This creates an opportunity to make further use of carbon already circulating within the biogas value chain while producing a renewable gas that can be integrated into existing gas infrastructure.
Contributing technical expertise
Biogasclean will be represented in the taskforce by Alvaro Krag Maldonado, Senior Sales Manager EMEA, and Dr Brian Jønson, R&D Specialist.
Their participation gives Biogasclean the opportunity to contribute practical and technical experience to the discussions, particularly around the treatment and utilisation of gas streams associated with biogas production and the interfaces between established biogas technologies and emerging e-methane solutions.
For Biogasclean, participating in the taskforce is also an opportunity to engage directly with other technology providers, producers, investors and industry stakeholders as the Danish e-methane market develops.
“E-methane brings together several areas that are closely connected to the existing biogas sector. We look forward to contributing our technical perspective and experience to the taskforce and to the broader discussion about how these solutions can be implemented in practice.”
Alvaro Krag Maldonado, Senior Sales Manager, EMEA, Biogasclean
First meeting of Danish e-methane taskforce
The taskforce held its first meeting in October 2026 and will continue its work on the technological, commercial and regulatory questions that will shape the future development of e-methane in Denmark.
